We Don't Do One-Size-Fits-All Alterations Here

All alterations aren't created equal. Some pieces may need just one quick fitting before we call it done, while others need a little more time and attention across multiple appointments to get everything just right. Whatever garment you bring in, we’ll walk you through exactly what needs to be done and how long it’ll take. We promise there will be no guessing and no surprises. Just a clear plan from the get go to make sure you look amazing on event day.

Here’s Why Our Formalwear Alterations are a Stitch Above

Bridal Work Expertise for Your Formal Attire

Just because it's not a wedding dress doesn't mean it should get any less attention, care, and expertise. From military gala dresses and ball gowns, to tuxedos and formal suits, we bring the same meticulous craftsmanship, quality standards, and attention to detail to everything we do.

We Handle Size Changes Thoughtfully

It’s often hard enough being comfortable in your clothes while navigating body changes that come with growth spurts or pregnancy. So growing kids, pregnant clients, nursing moms, and anyone on a weight loss journey gets special consideration. We'll work with you to create a timeline that accounts for anticipated changes and minimize the risk of alterations that don't fit by your event date. Just let us know your situation and we'll plan accordingly.

Clear Fitting Requirements

We don't make you guess how many appointments you'll need or when to get them scheduled. Based on what your garment requires, we'll tell you upfront whether you need one, two, or three fittings and exactly how much time to allow for each alteration we make. We promise there will be no vague timelines or surprise additional appointments!

Consultations Eliminate Surprises

Not sure what your dress needs or what it'll cost? Book a quick 15-minute consultation before committing to alterations. We'll assess your garment, explain exactly what work is required, provide a clear cost estimate, and help you plan your timeline. It's especially valuable if you're on a tight budget or have questions about the process.

“Susan is so great to work with! She is kinda and knowledgeable and truly does amazing work. My dress is perfect and I cannot wait to show it off on my wedding day!”

Optional Consultation

No idea what alterations are needed and totally unsure what to expect? If this is you, we don’t blame you! Schedule a quick 15-minute consultation so we can assess your garment, discuss the alterations required, and provide a clear timeline and cost estimate. This option is especially helpful if you're on a budget, experiencing size changes (like pregnancy, nursing, weight loss), or have a child who's still growing. While it's not required, it’s certainly beneficial for peace of mind before committing to alterations.

Single-Fitting Alterations

If you have a piece of clothing that just fits pretty well, but could stand a few changes to make it fit perfectly, this is the option for you. Single fittings are perfect for straightforward alterations that need just one appointment, like a simple hem, taking in or letting out the bodice, strap adjustments, or adding bra cups. These alterations take a minimum of one week from your fitting to completion, so be sure to schedule your appointment at least a week before you need the garment back.

Two-Fitting Alterations

If you need both something like bodice work (taking in or letting out) and a hem, you'll need two fittings. Here's why: once we alter the body of the dress, it changes how the length falls, so we need you to come back for a second fitting to ensure the hem is exactly right. Each fitting requires a minimum of one week, so plan at least two weeks before your event.

Three-Fitting Alterations

For clothing that needs significant resizing (i.e. more than 2 sizes different, or taking in 4+ inches, or letting out 2+ inches) plus additional alterations like hems and bodice adjustments, you'll need three fittings. This ensures we can make major structural changes while still achieving a perfect, comfortable fit. Plan for at least three weeks from your first fitting to completion.
